Growing in Grace

Community Ministry

Body and Soul:  Monday and Thursday mornings, at 9:15 A.M. and Tuesday evening at 7:00 P.M. and Saturday morning at 8:15 A.M. an aerobics class is held for members of the greater Zeeland community.  Body and Soul is a non-profit, non-denominational ministry that provides aerobic and strength-training exercise set to contemporary Christian music.  Regular class is one hour long and includes a devotion/prayer time.  Body and Soul’s mission is to promote physical discipline, spiritual growth and evangelism in an uplifting, encouraging atmosphere. Nursery is provided at the Monday/Thursday 9:15 A.M. class.

Feed America Food Distribution:  Once a month Third Church distributes up to 10,000 lbs. of food to those in need in our area through the Feed America Program. The Deacons and the Outreach Committee coordinate this program and there are opportunities each month to volunteer for this activity.  Ordinarily the distribution takes place on the fourth Saturday of each month.

Angel Tree:  This Christmas Ministry offers us a chance to show our love for those children who have a parent in prison.  Individuals are encouraged to take an angel from the angel tree and buy an appropriate gift for the child listed on the angel.  Suggested gift ideas are included and devotional material is also given.

Vacation Bible School:  The month of August finds volunteers from Third Church at Logan Estates, a mobile home park on Zeeland’s north side, cooperating with other churches in the community to bring the good news of Jesus to children who may not have any church background.  This ministry takes place in the evenings so as to reach children that may otherwise be in daycare.  Your help is needed for this unique ministry.

His Harvest Stand:  Third Church supports those in our community that are less fortunate by contributing to this local pantry.  Financial donations are collected as well as offerings of food and household supplies.  Volunteers are also needed to staff the center and be available for those who come in seeking help.
